I miss Brasil so much

I’ve noticed that recently I’ve thought about being in Brazil at least once a day. I’ll be reminded by a song, a smell, an ingredient, hearing portugues, or as yesterday by playing capoeira!
Boy did I have a massive smile on my face!

The Bristol capoeira group, Beribazu, is a group I started training with 6 years ago (although I haven’t trained solidly for that time - more like half of that!). And they are a uniquely fantastic group to train with. I’ve trained with and visited a lot of different capoeira groups around the world and the styles and attitudes vary enormously. What I love about Beribazu is its fun-loving and welcoming environment. This doesn’t mean the professor and students don’t take it seriously, far from it - the group is very dedicated to frequent and challenging training - but there is no feeling of exclusivity. Newcomers are always greeted warmly and the whole atmosphere is one of sincere enjoyment in the art form for itself (not just training for the sake of showing-off or just to be fit and strong).

One day I’ll make it back there, and I probably wont leave for quite some time… one day, when I can escape some of my debts :( but at the moment I am heavily tied to staying here. :(
Meu deus tenho muitas saudades!! Eu quero sentir o calor, o cheiro e todos os sabores do pais…. especialmente do Rio. Um dia vou voltar… mais nao posso sair daqui com tantos debitos!! :( odeio dinheiro :( :(
